Far out into the Atlantic ocean reaches the old storage facility CASTILLO DEL MAR. Every visitor is impressed by its incredible archaic power and we are reminded of the prosperous times in the North of La Gomera.
The banana trading base dates back to 1890 and was unused for about 50 years until Thomas K. Müller bought it in 1981 and it was then renovated for about 3 years time starting in 2001.
It is now finally open to the public and offers us today a stage for cultural events of all kinds. Its unique location, embedded between the steep cliffs , swept by the Atlantic ocean, looking out onto Teide beyond, the highest mountain of Spain, provides a spectacular natural backdrop.
The fantastic iron and tin sculptures by the artist Bernd Banach are on permanent exhibition in the CASTILLO DEL MAR.

The photographer Thomas K. Müller presents selected panoramic photography of La Gomera. The award-winning documentary "An Island of Many Faces" takes you on a journey through la Gomera.
In homage to the past of the CASTILLO DEL MAR, the visitor can enjoy an exhibition of old photos, poems and true stories put together in collaboration with local people.
A little shop/reception with postcards, books, music of La Gomera and souvenirs like DVDs, CDs and T-shirts of CASTILLO DEL MAR invites you to stroll around.
Our extraordinary CASTILLO BAR offers little snacks and drinks on the terrace in the middle of the Atlantic waves.
